NCAA Div. 2 Tennis. After an 11-year career serving teens through faith-based non-profit work, Mr. McKenzie transitioned to teaching in 2009.
Mr. McKenzie brings more than a decade of educational leadership experience across a variety of school settings. He has most recently served as Principal at Duncan U. Fletcher Middle School, an A-rated school, and has previously held leadership roles at Mandarin High School and Sandalwood High School. Throughout his career, he has supported large and diverse school communities through a strong focus on instructional leadership, student achievement, and collaborative school culture. His background as an instructional coach and literacy leader has also grounded his work in supporting teachers and improving outcomes for students.
As he steps into this role, Mr. McKenzie’s focus will include strengthening classroom instruction, ensuring consistent expectations and accountability, and continuing to build a school that meets the needs of the students we currently serve while also growing strong academic and program opportunities for families across our network.
Mr. McKenzie and his wife have been married for 20 years and have two children and is excited to join the Kodiak family.

With a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Florida A&M University, Christopher brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to every role he undertakes.
Throughout his career with Duval County Public Schools, Christopher held key leadership positions, including Project Director for the GEAR UP program, Principal, and Assistant Principal. In these roles, he led large teams, managed multimillion-dollar grant budgets, facilitated professional development for teachers and staff, and worked collaboratively with community partners and district stakeholders to improve student outcomes and strengthen school culture.
Christopher has a strong background in instructional leadership, data-driven decision-making, and school operations management. He has consistently focused on building strong relationships with students, families, staff, and the wider community to create safe, inclusive, and high-achieving school environments.
Now, Christopher is excited to join the Global Leadership Academy family, where he looks forward to bringing his passion for educational excellence and student-centered leadership to support the school’s vision and mission.
